Traces of Life – Traces de Vie

Traces of Life is a series of pictures in tribute to Medusa, a Greek mythological creature who had the power to petrify whoever dared to look into her eyes.

Her power then included to give death but also eternity

This legendary power reminds photographer one who freezes time with his “photo box”.

Through this work, the grain of sand, mineral element, becomes grain of memory where the living leaves the traces of gesture and language.

Finally, the silver grain of the film allows to perpetuate this memory.

The title of this work subtly evokes humanity’s fundamental quest: to find traces of life on a planet other than our own.
While awaiting this potential discovery, we can only ponder this dizzying enigma.
Should we consider ourselves alone in the face of the immensity of the Universe, or should we instead marvel at the idea that our small planet might be the only place where life has miraculously appeared?
